President & Chief Executive Officer
Tod Nielsen is the President and CEO of FinancialForce. Formerly the Executive Vice President of Platform at Salesforce, Tod joined FinancialForce in January 2017, bringing his deep understanding of cloud platforms and extensive experience taking technology companies beyond the billion dollar revenue mark. Prior to his role at Salesforce, Tod redefined Heroku’s enterprise strategy as the Chief Executive Officer, significantly accelerating its growth. As the Co-President of Applications Platform Group and Chief Operating Officer at VMware, their market cap increased 9-fold to more than 50 billion dollars.
Tod has held additional high profile positions throughout his career. Prior to VMware, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Borland Corporation where he successfully rebuilt the organization and quadrupled the company’s revenue. Earlier, Tod served as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Global Sales Support for Oracle and Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for BEA Systems. Prior to BEA, he spent 12 years growing Microsoft cloud and development offerings in various executive roles, including General Manager of Database and Developer Tools and Vice President of Microsoft's Platform group, where he was responsible for the development of .NET and Azure platforms.
Tod studied Business Administration and Information Systems at Central Washington University.
Chief Financial Officer
Gordy Brooks is the Chief Financial Officer at FinancialForce overseeing global finances and operations. Gordy joins FinancialForce with more than two decades of senior financial leadership experience at notable companies, serving as CFO of Blue Coat Systems and holding other senior finance positions at VMware and BEA Systems. Most recently as CFO of Citrix GetGo, he was responsible for orchestrating the spin-out of the GoTo SaaS product division and successful merger with LogMeIn (LOGM).
As CFO of Aerohive Networks, he led the finance, accounting and enterprise IT functions, bringing the company to a successful IPO. Gordy has held finance positions at other leading technology companies including Microsoft and WebTV Networks as well, and also launched four new companies during his extensive career.
A Silicon Valley native, Gordy started his career in the Palo Alto office of Ernst and Young after earning his Masters in Accounting from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business.
Chief Product Officer
Daniel Brown is Chief Product Officer at FinancialForce and is responsible for guiding the company’s product strategy to deliver on its ambitious growth plans and expanding the size and scope of the product development organization.
Dan joins FinancialForce with over 25 years of business software and SaaS solutions experience, including 15 years at Microsoft Corporation. Dan’s most recent Microsoft role was General Manager of Corporate Strategy, where he led the company’s internal digital transformation strategy.
Previously, Dan ran Microsoft’s Dynamic AX and Dynamics NAV product teams, where he was responsible for their international business growth, product development, and shift to a cloud delivery model. Prior to Microsoft, he led the product group for Rivio, a Silicon Valley startup that built workflow-based SaaS applications, including financials management for small-to-medium sized businesses.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy, and a Master’s degree in Computer Science, all from Stanford University, California.
Chief Revenue Officer
Mike Jerich is Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer at FinancialForce; overseeing the Company's global sales, pre-sales, sales operations, sales development, and go-to-market strategy. Mike has 20 years of global sales experience, and his deep operational experience has resulted in building and scaling high-performing teams. His mission is to grow the Company's global customer base.
Prior to joining FinancialForce, Mike was the Global Head of Sales and Marketing at IPC Systems, where he launched an operational plan focused on driving revenue growth, and sales operations. Mike’s plan led the transformation of IPC to a SaaS business.
He has held leadership positions at Intelepeer and Level 3 Communications, among others.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Political Sciences from Stanford University.
Chief Customer Officer
Andrea Lagan is the Senior Vice President and Chief Customer Officer at FinancialForce. As a customer experience veteran with more than 25 years of management experience, she has successfully led customer-focused teams responsible for driving business growth, customer retention and exceptional, award-winning customer experiences.
Prior to FinancialForce, she was responsible for all services delivery and customer renewals and retention at Alfresco Software, as their Chief Customer Officer. Prior to that, Andrea held senior leadership positions in Customer Support, Services, and Renewal Operations for Oracle, RightNow Technologies, and NetScout Systems, and is a frequent speaker at customer experience events.
John brings over 20 years of experience in law and technology to his position overseeing legal and security matters at FinancialForce. Before joining FinancialForce, John served as SVP and General Counsel, Commercial at Salesforce, where he led the legal functions supporting the company’s global sales, alliances, marketing and operations through growth from $300 million to $4 billion in annual revenue. He has also served as General Counsel of Intraware, a publicly traded provider of enterprise cloud computing services, as well as Deputy General Counsel of Barra, Corporate Counsel at Oracle, and intellectual property associate at Graham & James.
John has served as Adjunct Professor at Golden Gate Law School, is co-author of the treatise Negotiating and Drafting Software Consulting Agreements, and is a frequent speaker on cloud computing law issues. He received his JD from Stanford Law School, an MA in International Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and a BA from Sarah Lawrence College. He serves on the Board of Directors of the California Jazz Conservatory.
Senior Vice President, Employee Success
Jonathan Schoonmaker is the Senior Vice President of Employee Success at FinancialForce. A thirty-year veteran of human resources for some of Silicon Valley’s biggest enterprise brands, Schoonmaker has held senior executive positions with companies such as Sophos, Hewlett Packard (HP), VMware, Borland Group and Business Objects (SAP).
Jonathan has a proven track record in developing high-quality employee programs and internal HR processes that meet the needs of high-growth, diverse organizations. As Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Hewlett Packard’s Enterprise and Imaging Print and Solutions group, Jonathan supported more than 60,000 employees worldwide, reimaging company-wide best practices and talent management.
Prior to joining Hewlett-Packard in 2014, Schoonmaker was Vice President for Human Resources at VMware where he established a high-performance talent management program to support the company’s rapid growth and led several acquisition integration projects.
Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Communications from Ohio University.
Chief Marketing Officer
Fred Studer joins FinancialForce with over two decades of senior leadership experience at notable companies such as Gigamon, NetSuite, Microsoft, and Oracle. Most recently as CMO of Gigamon, Fred led a brand refresh and improved sales productivity and channel activation. As CMO of NetSuite he redefined the company’s enterprise strategy, leading worldwide marketing initiatives that drove product awareness and adoption.
Prior to NetSuite, Fred spent 8 years as General Manager of the U.S. Microsoft Office and Dynamics Businesses. He went on to lead the company’s worldwide marketing and go-to-market strategy, and spearheaded the execution of Microsoft Dynamics’ CRM and ERP lines. Responsible for a multi-functional team, Fred’s leadership and drive proved instrumental in the team’s ability to deliver innovative business and marketing strategies on a global scale.
Originally from Denver, Colorado, Fred received his B.S. in accounting and finance from the University of Colorado Boulder. He is a board member of the University Of Colorado Leeds School Of Business.
Founder & Senior Vice President, Strategic Customer Experience
Debbie Ashton is the Senior Vice President of Strategic Customer Experience and a Founder of FinancialForce. Debbie has been instrumental in the growth and ongoing success of the FinancialForce business. In her current role, Debbie’s mission is to work with our customers to understand their journey, ensure they maximize the value they derive from our solutions and enhance the overall customer experience.
As an ERP expert with over 25 years experience she has worked on the some of the industries leading ERP platforms. From the inception of FinancialForce Debbie has been in senior leadership positions including product strategy and development, global support and customer success.
Prior to FinancialForce Debbie ran the international product teams at Coda following the acquisition by SciSys and latterly UNIT4, during this time Debbie held leadership positions in product management & engineering, as well as presales and account management. Debbie has a degree in Applied Biology from Sheffield Hallam University.
Jeremy was the driving force behind the creation of FinancialForce in 2009 with investment from UNIT4 and Salesforce.
Prior to launching FinancialForce, Jeremy was instrumental in the success and global expansion of CODA, a UK-headquartered public company specializing in enterprise accounting applications. In 2008, Jeremy led CODA through its acquisition by UNIT4 and its successful integration with its new parent, creating one of Europe's top 10 software vendors.
Jeremy began his career at IBM, after which he joined ISV Lychgate where he held a number of senior systems engineering and sales roles. He joined Science Systems (now SciSys) as Commercial Director in 1990 and was a core member of the team that led the acquisition of CODA in March 2000. He was then appointed CTO of the newly formed CODA Group and became CEO in 2002. Following 5 years of growth, he led the demerger of CODA from parent CODASciSys in 2006 and the relisting of CODA plc on the London AIM market. Jeremy is also a member of the Managing Board of UNIT4, majority shareholder of FinancialForce.com.
In 2005, Jeremy helped establish the European Software Association and spent three years as Chairman, promoting software best practice and cooperation across the business community. He is also co-author of “Beyond Governance: Creating Corporate Value through Performance, Conformance and Responsibility”.
Jeremy has a BA (Hons) in Business Studies from Thames Polytechnic, London.
