I was recently asked to comment on what role the Salesforce platform has played in FinancialForce.com’s growth since its inception back in 2009. As I began to list the various internal systems and processes where the Salesforce platform plays a key role, I found myself fighting the urge to start quoting a much loved Monty Python sketch from my youth.
So with apologies, but with the utmost respect to John Cleese – “Apart from marketing, sales, support, product development, services delivery, billing, finance, recruitment, HR, IT, mobility, collaboration, security and audit trails what has the Salesforce platform ever done for us?”
Of course as a developer of native Force.com apps, FinancialForce.com has always been committed to using the Salesforce platform. However, at the outset none of us would have predicted quite how much the business has benefited from having such a powerful and scalable platform on which to manage its entire operations.
Ben Kepes’ excellent white paper, “The Platform Of The Future – Connected Applications In A Rapidly Changing World,” looks closely at how this choice of platform for business applications will fundamentally impact a company’s ability to meet key challenges now and in the future.
Whether you are launching a new business, fighting to react to the challenge of new competitors, searching for ways to meet the growing expectations of your customers or thinking about how to find and retain top talent in a rapidly changing job market, I strongly suggest you check out Ben’s thought-provoking and insightful report.
