Waves to Wine: FinancialForce gets their Cycle on for MS

One thing you will notice while visiting or living in the Bay Area is the constant athleticism. Whether it’s hiking a trail, running along the docks, taking a trip to ski in Tahoe or going for a long bike ride, you can bet that your weekend will involve some outdoor fun!  This is also because there are so many micro climates to explore and almost any activity on land or water is at your disposal.

So what if you wanted to explore several different climates in two days all on your bike? Biking anywhere from 90 to 179 miles with your only rest taking place in a tent surrounded by hundreds of people overnight? Well as crazy as it sounds, it’s one of the biggest fundraisers that the National MS Foundation, Northern California Chapter puts on. This year, Certinia.com will yet again be joining the Salesforce & Friends team for Bike MS: Waves to Wine to reach their fundraising goal of $250,000!

If you don’t already know, “Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. The cause of MS is still unknown – scientists believe the disease is triggered by as-yet-unidentified environmental factor(s) in a person who is genetically predisposed to respond.” This is why it is so important to continue supporting the MS Foundation so that scientists can find a cure.

The Salesforce & Friends team started 8 years ago and each year this team grows in both participants and dollars raised. To date, the team has raised $500,000 and in 2014 alone we are reaching to raise half of that. This year Certinia.com will have 15 employees and friends and 2 volunteers participating. In fact, our very own CEO, Jeremy Roche, is coming in from the UK to help reach this goal!

Right now the total goal for Waves to Wine is $2.62 million. Salesforce & Friends is one part of that and if we hit or exceed $250,000 then that is over 9.5%. If you would like to help us and the National MS Society you can donate here.
