Dreamforce is just over a month away and if you’ve never attended before, it may seem like a daunting prospect. Sessions at ERPcentral

ERPcentral­ – otherwise known as the official FinancialForce Headquarters at Dreamforce 2016­ – is back again and serving up all things Cloud ERP. Customer experiences at Dreamforce

Still not sure whether there’s value in attending? I spoke with two FinancialForce customers, one a Dreamforce first timer and one a Dreamforce veteran, about their reasons for attending Dreamforce 2016, what they are most looking forward to, and any advice they would give to other newbies, to try and help you make up your mind.

The First Timer

There are three reasons I have decided to attend Dreamforce for the first time this year:

  1. Dreamforce means Inspiration – I’ll be attending the customer success sessions in the hope that they will provoke thought and provide insight into different ways of achieving success.
  2. Dreamforce means Learning – The hands-on-sessions have always been my favorite at the London World Tour; but I’ve always wanted more. Trailhead has gone some way to filling this gap; but at Dreamforce its bigger with so many more sessions delivered by experts I’m almost spoilt for choice.
  3. Dreamforce means Networking – with so many attending it’s a fantastic opportunity to meet peers and share my experiences whilst learning from theirs.

The Veteran

If you have any type of Salesforce Certification, that alone is the reason to attend Dreamforce each year! In order to keep up with the continuous changes, you can get firsthand knowledge, and often hands-on experience with the newest features of Salesforce, as well as with their partner vendors, like FinancialForce. Between the literally thousands of sessions (Some lectures, some hands-on), the areas and demos specifically aimed toward your certification area of expertise, the multitude of Keynote speakers, the chance to network with other customers and partners…the list goes on! There is literally so much to soak in that you have to plan your schedule as much as you can in advance, but be flexible enough to change as you come across something that peaks your interest!

And as a Manager or an Executive of a company that uses Salesforce, it is imperative that you see how Salesforce and their Partners’ Apps can enhance your company, either with increased efficiencies or higher ROI. Plan on spending as much time as possible in the Partner Exhibits because this is where you will discover the multitude of Applications built on the Force.com platform. There are Apps that you may not have even thought of but could greatly enhance your business processes.
