FinancialForce.com hits Salesforce Tour London
Salesforce hit London with a bang last week as its World Tour set up stage at London’s ExCel. Now purported to be the largest software conference in the history of the UK, the event saw 14,000 registrations and over a million watching online.
The Expo was populated with a sea of orange shirts as the FinancialForce.com team manned a busy stand, bustling with attendees wanting to find out how cloud ERP can help their businesses. This year was by far the busiest yet, as attendees wanted to understand how they could extend their CRM into the back office to enable them to work more efficiently.
A gloriously sunny day was complemented nicely by the sponsored FinancialForce.com ice cream cart which toured the floor helping keep delegates cool as they moved from session to session.
The holiday feeling carried through the venue as our FinancialForce.com tourists milled around directing attendees to the stand.
As expected, Salesforce opened the show with great fanfare. Violinists, a laser light show and a James Bond style video preceded Keith Block’s keynote, focused heavily on customers and enabling their transformation. A number of high profile global customers demonstrated how the platform is the world’s most trusted enterprise cloud. Block stated there are now over 3 billion transactions per day on the platform and this is only set to grow.
Salesforce revealed that the UK industry itself is burgeoning with research from IDC forecasting that in the UK ‘The Salesforce Economy’ will drive more than 5.6 billion pounds of impact to the GDP and 50,000 new jobs by 2018.
Front and back office on the Salesforce platform: perfect harmony
FinancialForce.com is well positioned to take advantage of the continued growth of the platform. The time for cloud is here and companies are realising the benefits of hosting their back and front office applications on the same platform. We helped demonstrate this through a talk from our VP of Marketing, Tom Brennan, warning companies against building an ERP Frankencloud with cobbled together systems.
Gartner stated last year that 2% of organisations have core ERP in the cloud with 47% planning to move to cloud within the next five years. The demand is higher than ever before and is set to accelerate.
With six years of experience in building cloud ERP applications on the Salesforce platform, FinancialForce.com was on hand to offer plenty of advice to all during the event and looks forward to helping more customers make the back office move to cloud.

After a long day the team spent the evening at Cafe de Paris where we co-hosted the Salesforce Obsessions party with New Voice Media and other partners. We had a great VIP area for customers, partners and other FinancialForce friends, where they could enjoy the excellent live entertainment, with our very own Blue Lagoon cocktail!
