DevTalks 2015 – Testing Salesforce User Interfaces

Every Salesforce developer knows the importance of unit tests and (willingly or not!) ends up writing quite a few of them. That leaves your server (err cloud?) side logic well tested, but what about the presentation logic? On the other hand, testing Visualforce, especially JavaScript-heavy pages, hasn’t had a clear solution available.

At this Certinia DevTalks on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Certinia.com HQ, we’ll be talking with Mats Bryntse, the Founder and Chief JavaScript Officer at Bryntum, also known as the developer of the siesta testing framework. Mats has been part of the Sencha community for 7 years, speaking at JavaScript events around the world. At Bryntum, him and his colleagues make advanced UI Gantt chart components and JS testing tools.

Testing rich web application UIs can be challenging without a solid tool to help you, and Siesta is a great fit. As a great start to 2015, we will be looking into how Siesta works with Visualforce and JavaScript driven apps, with a particular focus on ExtJs. Not to mention there will be pizza and beer galore.
