Scott Travasos, CFO of Blue Shield of California Foundation, cited as top CFO in the Business Leadership Awards
San Francisco, CA: FinancialForce.com, the cloud applications company, today announced that FinancialForce.com customer Scott Travasos, CFO at Blue Shield of California Foundation (BSCF), was recognized by Ventana Research with the Chief Financial Officer Leadership Award in the 2012 Ventana Research Leadership Awards. Scott received this award as a result of his innovative and unique work with FinancialForce Accounting at BSCF.
“Scott’s work with FinancialForce Accounting is helping to shape the future role of a CFO, as evidenced by his CFO Magazine cover story earlier this year,” said Mark Smith, CEO and Chief Research Officer, Ventana Research. “Scott’s adoption of the social collaboration and finance mentality represents the kind of innovative thinking that should inspire finance leaders to examine new methods to manage and operate finance.”
BSCF uses FinancialForce Accounting along with Salesforce CRM and Salesforce Chatter to improve business operations and financial reporting. BSCF used to have to wait for monthly financial reports, but now BSCF’s financial department has the ability to view financials real-time utilizing FinancialForce Accounting. Dashboards built into FinancialForce Accounting give a real-time view of financial data whenever it is needed, which has had a positive impact on both reporting and planning. The ability to share financial data easily and quickly with senior management has allowed the executives to make better decisions for the company. Additionally, the benefit of having Chatter tied to all of BSCF’s projects allows the finance department to archive and locate historical data easily because the background on a project or departmental topic is already archived via Chatter.
“Scott is breaking the mold of the traditional CFO role and doing some amazing work in his organization to improve financial operations, incorporate more social media tools into the business to increase productivity and ultimately to positively impact business operations,” said Jeremy Roche, CEO, FinancialForce.com. “We congratulate Scott on his innovative work at Blue Shield of California Foundation with FinancialForce Accounting.”
The Leadership Awards have become an industry tradition, with leaders and innovators identified annually by the Ventana Research team. The annual leadership awards are delivered by the Ventana Research team, which through its benchmark research, on-demand advisory and education continues to pioneer new methods for organizations to become efficient and effective in their business. As part of the scoring process and methodology, Ventana Research examined the submissions to evaluate the nominated organization’s use of people, processes, information and technology, the best practices it developed, the degree of team involvement and the project’s business impact and value. The Leadership Awards will present participants with an award at the Ventana Research Business Technology Innovation Summit on November 8th at The Tech Museum in San Jose, CA during the Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony.
